Reworlding Sessions
Inspired to understand what regeneration can provide to the world, the Reworlding Sessions project was initiated by Design Innovation Group with the goal to invite communities across the world to reconnect with Nature, learn about regenerative skills and practices and imagine a regenerative futures. The initiative was an exploratory project for embracing new ways of seeing and being while reflecting on our own worldviews and how do we design solutions that not only sustains but actively restores ecosystems, communities, and relationships.

We brought together skills for futures thinking, imagination, creative storytelling and visualisation to jointly develop and communicate ideas to the world. In this project, we organised three sessions that were initiated with partners across different continents (UK, Brazil and Uganda), resulting in local action and imagination while being inspired through a global exchange.

-
In Brazil, partner Instituto Ecobairro Brasil developed an urban regeneration journey for citizens of the city of São Paulo.
-
In Uganda, partner Girls for Climate Action developed an exploration journey for young women leading climate action in the city of Jinja.
-
In London, partner Central St. Martins of the University of the Arts London, developed an online regenerative journey to explore concepts and words around regeneration with their global student network.

The design challenge
The Reworlding Sessions project had an exploratory nature in essence and did not look for or define an intended result or outcome. The process and methodology designed for each session was the focus of the project, where each country partners experimented with diverse methods to spark new ways of thinking and seeing our world through regenerative mindsets of interconnectedness and sense of belonging.

Our guiding question for each of the Reworlding Sessions was: How do we imagine regenerative futures?
With this question in mind, participants were welcomed to join a regenerative journey where imagination, creativity, and embodied hands-on experiences were key elements in their learning process.

In the project, we hosted a series of collaborative sessions with participants and partners to spark fresh ideas around regeneration. We jointly explored creative storytelling, applying regenerative design methods, and sharing knowledge from different disciplines and cultures. The journey embarked on the meaning of regeneration from different perspectives and cultural contexts, and we translated these experiences into creative expressions of what regenerative futures we envision.

The outcome
In each Reworlding Sessions participants dove deep into the dimensions, processes, and relationships of regenerative design in relation to nature, with a shared goal of reimagining and creating a truly sustainable world.
In Uganda, a special moment during their journey involved gathering in a circle to co-create a seed time capsule where participants brought seeds from their respective regions together, reflecting on the purpose behind this act of collectivism. The group shared the messages they wanted to send along with the seeds, contemplating what they hoped these seeds would bring to the future as they grow. This exercise symbolised unity and represented the future trees that would express their collective hopes and dreams.
In Brazil, an important moment in their urban regeneration journey was the Global Planting Day. In the activity, more than 100 people, including children and elderly, joined together to take care of the city by planting more trees and taking care of a green public space for the enjoyment of all! Participants were invited to get their hands dirty consciously, with full attention, following the best practices for planting trees and creating permaculture beds, using the principles of nature-based solutions. At each planting, they also planted a paper seed, on which future dreams for this square were written.

In London and their global network of students, their journey aimed to develop a “Living Lexicon” for regenerative design—a dynamic resource capturing the insights, reflections, and shared knowledge developed through a deep exploration of regenerative principles. Participants were invited to co-research regenerative practices and share their experiences of applying regenerative principles in their own environments. In each meeting, prompts were shared and encouraged students to broaden their understanding of community, kinship, and reciprocity.

This page showcases all the rollouts of the PASSA Youth program across the world. Users can filter through the library of rollouts from each different country.

The PASSA platform is all about connecting people. Users can connect with everyone by going through the People page! They can filter based on the country where a person is based or their role!

Each member of the platform has their own profile. Users can see which rollouts they’re a part of, which stories they wrote, and which badges they have earned.
